Drum roll please.... MORE UPDATES!

Oh, I know you aren't interested in my life or my updates, but I don't really have time to waste thinking about all that other trivial crap I used to post about. So let me update you, and then get down to business.

1. The Musks were recently (and very briefly) reunited in Chicago for one night. Went to Wrigleyville for dranks in dresses. (Notice how blue MLA's eyes are- aren't they b-e-a-utiful?!?!?)

2. Then George and I went to Greenwich, CT/NYC. We decided to take photos like Indians on vacation. This is us in front of the reflection pond in Central Park. (And then there we are being American again).

3. And then I went to South Carolina to see Clayton. I went out to lunch with some southern girls to a "meat and three" and learned quite a bit. First of all, a meat and three is where you go and pick a meat (country fried steak, chicken fried steak, steak fried steak, steak fried chicken, chicken fried chicken, or meatloaf), and then you pick three sides (mac and cheese, green beans, fried okra, kidney beans, sweet peas, mashed potatoes, squash casserole, etc... you get the picture) and then you choose a biscuit or cornbread. (BTW, if you can put it [any kind of food] on a biscuit, they will eat it). So anyways, I chose meatloaf, and got a, "Oh, I bet you've never had meatloaf before! Have you ever heard of it?" Umm.. yes. Then I asked what rice and gravy was (this was a side option). "Well, rice is like a short white grain... do you know what rice is?" Umm... yes. "Okay, and gravy is like, thick brown sauce you put on meat-" "Yeah, I know what that is... so, you just put gravy on rice?" "Yeah! Y'all don't have that up there?" ...no. ALSO- at the football game at this PUBLIC university, a prayer was said before kickoff. Here it is, as I wrote it down in my phone. "Dear Heavenly Father, may your creativity and originality shine through our offense. May your strength and swiftness shine through our defense. And may your team spirit and pride shine through our fans. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen." SERIOUSLY? Had I known that God has a sense of team spirit and pride, I totally would have been on his side all this time. I had no idea. Anyways, to give those southerners a little credit, they were chuckling at the prayer. It was outrageous. Thought it was a prank. But nope, just a prayer. Other than that, South Carolina was lovely. It was still hot and sunny but nice and cool at night. Clay is coming to meet my parents in three weeks. He's staying for a week over my birthday weekend. Should be fun to see how he reacts to them. Once he called and I was sitting on our back patio with my brother and parents, drinking wine and smoking hookah, and when I told him that he was almost offended that parents would behave that way. Can't wait til he gets a good dose of Linda Kelly. Going to be entertaining as hell. Anyhow, some pictures of the boy who won the contest.

That about does it for me. I am housing four people this weekend for three nights- they're all running the Chicago Marathon. One is a friend of mine, Josh, two of his siblings, and one of his buddies. It'll be interesting. I'm really excited.

loving chi,
