Why is it that when young girls (20-somethings) talk to/flirt with unattractive older men in bars it is slutty and whorish and assumed she is only after a free drink, when if a young man were to do the same with unattractive older woman, it is comical and silly.
Please tell me why.

Gender Bias then, the cultural way we are supposed to see men and women, the perception is that a man who has to have a woman buy him a drink (and can not handle it on his own) is weak, so we laugh at him. A woman who uses the lure of sex to get a free drink, well I guess we have established what she is and we're just negotiating price. I an old guy walks up and buys a hot young girl a drink though would be a sad and pathetic but ok for the girl, but if the girl was really working it to get some old dude to pay for drinks, well that’s sluttish. That’s my analysis of how most of our “culture” views it anyway, not an evaluation of my personal ethos.
Personally if a hot young chick wants to work it to get some free drinks well what ever if the old dude is dumb enough to fall for it that’s his problem, kudos to the chick. Of course if she is always coming on to dudes to get a drink and gets a reputation for gold digging what happens the time she comes on to guy she really likes? Personaly I think its prostitution on the part of anyone to use sex or the lure of sex to get free drinks, that’s ok. Just don’t act all offended at the end of the night when the old dude or woman offers you 100$ to bang the shit out of your ass. That’s what was getting sold in the first place now it’s just a matter of price.
